And here I come, Borawan and Dampalitan
Island of Padre Burgos in Quezon province. A very quiet and calm sea of Padre Burgos has its own unique diverse island and islet. Too pricey chartered boat will bring you to the pride and undeveloped islands of Padre Burgos.
Borawan Island
From afar, it really looks like Boracay-Palawan because of white sand
and rock formation. Upon reaching the place, it’s not really white or fine sand
(like in Calatagan) and the rock is not really like the rock formation found in
Palawan. But I’ll give +1 and thumbs up for Borawan.
The place is peaceful and
truly astonishing. There are no trees or shaded area just only you, rocks, sand,
sea and cottages. It has no wide shoreline unlike in Dampalitan Island. Other
things you can do here is rock climbing and rappelling.
Dampalitan Island
It can be seen from Borawan Island. It’s larger than Borawan and has a wider stretch of shoreline planted of pine trees. The sand is
like in Borawan Island. Entrance fee is reasonably 30 pesos (not per day basis)
and 150pesos tent fee. You can stay there for unlimited days. The beach is
clean and peaceful.
I stay far-off from the other so that I could relax, unwind and sleep. I bought some fresh fish from the fisherman and have it grilled for
lunch. I slept the whole day in Dampalitan because I haven’t got a sleep since
yesterday (Friday, 23 March). You can
also ask to get you a fresh buko (coconut) for only 15pesos. I also bought water
in Vista Playa for only 35php. Just bring back the container. The whole island
can be visited by walking on shoreline. Regular round checks are made by the
local. They are also not sleeping until all visitors weren’t sleep at night. The
beach is more comfortable and safe.
The boat man will get back you in Vista Playa on time you wanted and
they will give whatever you needed (runner).
