Solo Mt. Batulao Day Hike
Old – New Trail

I climbed Mt. Batulao on a blistering hot Friday before I went home in Calatagan. It was my 5th time in Mt. Batulao and my first time to hike alone. My feet were itchy to climb again because my last climb was roughly two months ago (Mt. Apo). The ambience of Mount Batulao is always dazzling. I started at 1020H and took the old trail because of more shaded part than the new trail. I run, walk hastily and chat with the locals. I was in the summit at 1140H and stayed for about 15-20minutes.
The sun was totally burning hot but the wind was
refreshing. I can’t take it too long being exposed on the heat of the sun. I
hurriedly descend and reached Evercrest/ National Highway at 1300H. I quickly
took a bath and waited for bus going to Calatagan.
